Moffat Christchurch factory

After the devastating quakes of 2011, and four years of hard work, Moffat is proud to announce its brand new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. It has specially been built in Rolleston, 22km south west of Christchurch in order to remain in the safe zone from a potential future quake.

Moffat’s Group Managing Director, Greg O’Connell stated that the new plant will enable Moffatt to deliver exceptional capacity, quality and efficiency, which means faster access to equipment and an improvement of the high standards Moffat is already known for.

The new factory is 40% larger in size than the previous factory allowing Moffat to provide more streamlined processes in the short term while having space to future-proof new approaches. The new facilities allow Moffat to manufacture over 5300 products. It currently processes over 2500 sheets of steel each week and ships over 400 20-foot containers each year.

Moffat has also invested in cutting-edge new machinery such as the high-speed metal laser and loading system and an automated sheet metal folding cell which will help with the delivery of quality results quickly.

Looking ahead, our Christchurch factory will become an integral part of Moffat’s distribution worldwide which allows New Zealand to continue as Moffat’s prime manufacturing headquarters. The new facility also combines a number of key strengths that will ensure Moffat can meet existing demand and develop new business while also having the resources to develop innovative technology in the years ahead.
